“Music speaks what cannot be expressed, soothes the mind and gives it rest, heals the heart and makes it whole, flows from heaven to the soul.” ~Unknown~Music is a staple in our house. Along with the constant whining, barking, and laughing, you will almost always hear music somewhere in our home. Yes, it is a noisy house I keep.
Music moves every member of our family. The wild mohawked beast can be easily soothed with Bob Marley or Dave Matthews Band (and I sincerely hope this is not an indication of his future chill-out activity preference). Jazz is the genre of choice for Mini-Me. And my littlest one, much like her mama, loves all music and can find joy in every tune she hears.
At any given time my favorite song can change, and there is always a "title song" playing in my head as if running in the background of a movie's opening credits. This morning, as I was picking up 10 pounds of dog food from the laundry room floor thanks to my "helper" deciding the dogs would feel better if they could have all the food, my theme song was "Clean up, clean up, everybody everywhere! Clean up, Clean up, everybody do your share"! Somehow, belting Barney at the top of my lungs helped take the edge off of my bad attitude. The Mohawk Monster thought it was hilarious, of course. And honestly, I couldn't help but giggle at how incredibly ridiculous I must have looked (and sounded).
Currently, my own blog song is running through my head. So for now, I'll let the music speak for itself.
Love, hugs, and blessings,
The Mama
