Staycation Hangover

Last week, we were fortunate enough to have Hubs home for an entire week. It was nice for several reasons, not the least of which was having a car so I could come and go whenever I wanted!

We originally planned to head back to our beloved St. Simons for a few days. However, with the upcoming move (which I'll fill you in on in another post) and mounting list of to-do's, we decided to stay home and focus our efforts here instead.

It was great. It was relaxing. I got to spend time with Hubs, with friends, and with each of my kids one on one. We had pajama days (shhh... don't tell anyone that this happens at least once a week when he's traveling for work), we had s'mores for dinner, we watched movies and chilaxed on the couch, and best of all, I got to stay in bed until 8:00 every morning.

Today, however, we're back to reality. Hubs was dropped off at the airport at 8:30 this morning (which definitely meant I was up and at-em before 7:30). My kids were screaming and crying before we even hit the Grady curve. Apparently, it wasn't only the luggage that was taken out of the car at the airport, but also my children's sweet dispositions.

I am definitely nursing a Staycation Hangover.

In a preemptive attempt to salvage my sanity, we're heading to the gym this afternoon. I've strategically timed everything so that we can get home by 5:00, have baths by 6:00, and be ready for bed by 6:45. I'm praying that this will help ease our way through the inevitible Monday afternoon witching hour that takes over my house around 3:00.

If you don't hear back from me, send in reinforcements. It means there's been a hostile takeover of the little people in my house.

Love, hugs, and blessings,
The Mama
