Happy Birthday, Little Man!

The last two years have been a complete whirlwind in our family. Looking back, it's hard to even see where one year ended and another one began. Despite all of the chaos, we have been incredibly blessed with our beautiful children, a supportive family, and God's grace that continues to help us through each day.

The best event that catapulted us into the chaos of the last 24 months was the birth of our son. He turned 2 on Saturday!!!

N's birthday was relatively low key. We had family over one day and friends over the next. Birthdays are a big deal, but we don't go all out on parties and such until we know they'll remember them. The first birthday party I remember has been aptly nicknamed "The Chicken Pox Party" because we were all getting over the chicken pox (yes, I actually HAD the chicken pox... there were no vaccines against it "back in the good ol' days). I think I was five. That's about the age we'll start having more social birthday parties for our children.

At any rate, N's birthday was quiet and calm and wonderful. He's such a little ham lately! He is incredibly smart, extremely energetic, and absolutely adorable. He pushes me to my limits of patience and I constantly thank God for that. He makes me stop and think which I need every once in a while.

I think the most memorable part of his birthday was when he decided to sneak the cake. He thoroughly enjoyed himself and got away with it because after all, it was HIS birthday!!!




It was a wonderful day and a wonderful weekend. I am thankful for everyone who helped us celebrate and for the occasion that brought us together. My birthday wish for N is a lifetime of health and happiness. He is an amazing little boy!
