A Night at the ER

I'm tired today, so this post won't be too long and probably not very entertaining.

I spent the evening at the ER with my precious L. By the time we got there, she had a 103 fever and was having some trouble breathing. Fortunately, her pulse ox stayed high.

I'm thankful that we had a wonderful doctor, despite the horrible nurses who took care of us. My poor little girl was dehydrated and they tried for 20 minutes to put in a catheter. After they finally acknowledged that I knew what I was talking about (mama DOES know best!), they agreed to let the other test results come back before trying to cath her again. After a fight with her tiny veins to get some blood, and her falling asleep on the x-ray table, we found out that she has RSV. Fortunately, she's a strong little monkey and will be fine. The gave us an inhaler to help with her breathing and I'm keeping a close eye on her temp.

I'm so thankful to the moms who are on the message board I belong to. They sent up prayers and good wishes for us and it was nice to know that someone was thinking about me and my baby.

The house is now quiet and I think it's time for the mama to catch a nap. Until next time...

Love, hugs, and blessings,
The Mama
