Dear Supervisors,
I am writing to let you know that I'm feeling under the weather today. I know that there is a lot to do, but I haven't had a day off in over three years.
I'm sure that the diapers needing washed will wait. There is some frozen lasagna that can be heated up for dinner. Sesame Street has some educational value, and I am fairly certain that a designated pajama day would be a nice deviation from the norm.
I know how much you depend on me. I appreciate the trust that you have in me. I am in no way trying to minimize how important you and your needs are. However, I think that it would be in all of our best interest if I could have just one day to get well. After all, I am on the clock 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Please be assured that I know I am asking the impossible and even though I am sick, I will continue to give you cuddles, make you "breaksmast", wipe your noses, and play endless games of peek-a-boo, princesses, and cars with you. After all, this is the best job in the world and I wouldn't trade it for anything.
Love, hugs, and blessings,
The Mama
